Jim Inhofe, a Republican from Oklahoma, has died at age 89, the Tulsa World and Politico report. He is survived by his wife, Kay, along with four children.

Inhofe served five terms in the Senate, where he was known for his staunch opposition to climate change legislation. In February 2015, with temperatures in the nation's capital below freezing, Inhofe brought a snowball onto the Senate floor to argue that climate change was not real.
