Gypsy Rose Blanchard Docuseries Coming to Lifetime
Exploring the Murder and Abuse Case
Gypsy Rose Blanchard's Story to Unfold in Eight-Episode Series
In 2015, Gypsy Rose Blanchard made headlines after she was accused of orchestrating the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. Now, the story of Gypsy Rose and the years of abuse she suffered at the hands of her mother will be told in a new Lifetime docuseries.
The eight-episode series, titled Gypsy Rose, will explore both the murder and its aftermath. The series will also shed light on the years of abuse Gypsy Rose endured, including physical, emotional, and financial exploitation.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard pleaded guilty in 2016 to second degree murder and is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence. Her story has sparked a national conversation about Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a mental health disorder in which a caregiver makes up or causes an illness or injury in a person under their care.
The docuseries will feature interviews with Gypsy Rose, her family, and friends, as well as experts on child abuse and Munchausen syndrome by proxy. The series is expected to premiere in 2023 on Lifetime.
Gypsy Rose's story is a tragic one, but it is also a story of hope and resilience. Despite the horrors she has endured, Gypsy Rose has emerged as a strong and independent woman. The Lifetime docuseries will give viewers the opportunity to learn more about her story and the challenges she has faced.
