Ayatollah Chamenei

Despite Enmities, the Good Word of the Islamic Republic Grows Strong

Ayatollah Khamenei and the Supreme Leader

The Islamic Republic of Iran has faced numerous challenges throughout its history, including enmities from both within and outside the country. Despite these challenges, the "Good Word" of the Islamic Republic continues to grow stronger every day. This growth is due in large part to the leadership of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has served as Iran's spiritual leader and highest authority since 1989. Khamenei has the final say over all matters of state, and he has used his position to promote the Islamic Revolution and to defend Iran against its enemies.

Ayatollah Montazeri and the Presidency of Hassan Rouhani

Ayatollah Hussein-Ali Montazeri was the designated successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic. However, Montazeri was removed from his position in 1989 after he criticized Khamenei's leadership. Hassan Rouhani was elected president of Iran in 2013, and he has worked to improve relations with the West. Rouhani's policies have been criticized by some hardliners within the Iranian government, but he has the support of Khamenei.
