Point Guards

The Timberwolves have a young and talented group of point guards who are expected to make a significant contribution to the team's success in 2023-24. Led by All-Star D'Angelo Russell, the Timberwolves also have a solid backup in Jordan McLaughlin and a promising up-and-comer in Jaylen Nowell.

D'Angelo Russell

Russell is entering his fourth season in Minnesota and is coming off a season in which he averaged 18.1 points and 7.1 assists per game. He is a dynamic scorer who can create his own shot and knock down shots from anywhere on the court. Russell is also a very good playmaker who can set up his teammates for easy baskets.

Jordan McLaughlin

McLaughlin is a solid backup point guard who can provide the Timberwolves with a steady hand when Russell is resting. He is a good defender and can score when needed. McLaughlin averaged 5.9 points and 4.0 assists per game in 2022-23.

Jaylen Nowell

Nowell is a rising star who is expected to take a big step forward in 2023-24. He is a dynamic scorer who can get to the basket with ease and knock down shots from the outside. Nowell averaged 9.6 points per game in 2022-23.

Shooting Guards

The Timberwolves have a solid group of shooting guards who can provide the team with some much-needed scoring. Led by All-Star Anthony Edwards, the Timberwolves also have a veteran presence in Malik Beasley and a promising young player in Taurean Prince.

Anthony Edwards

Edwards is the Timberwolves' franchise player and is coming off a breakout season in which he averaged 20.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. He is a rising star who has the potential to be one of the best players in the NBA.

Malik Beasley

Beasley is a veteran shooting guard who can provide the Timberwolves with some much-needed scoring. He is a reliable outside shooter who can also create his own shot. Beasley averaged 11.4 points per game in 2022-23.

Taurean Prince

Prince is a promising young player who can give the Timberwolves some athleticism and versatility on the wing. He is a good defender and can score when given the opportunity. Prince averaged 7.3 points per game in 2022-23.
